This blog will be dedicated to the topics of fashion, food, my new life in Pittsburgh, and funny stories/videos/moments. While the theme and posts will vary from day to day, overall this blog is about having fun and feeling good.
A little about the blogging gal ...
I recently moved to Pittsburgh, PA after finishing a Master's of Science in Environmental Policy and Environmental Justice and a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Michigan. (I promise not to push views but political humor and environmental stories will without a doubt be contributing factors in this blog.) I LOVE Michigan Football, and I am 100% positive that maize and blue runs in my veins. While I was born and raised in the Mitten (near gorgeous Lake Michigan), my true hometown has always been Pittsburgh. My parents are both Pittsburghers, and I was raised rooting for the ever losing Pirates, loving the Steelers, and living and breathing Penguins hockey. The loss of Jordan Staal last year was a moment of great devastation in my life, but it will no deter me from wearing my custom made Jordan Staal jersey (a 24th birthday gift from the amazing man in my life). I currently work in cosmetics, and I love my job.
In recent events, the calendar year has changed! In case you were unaware, it is now 2013. This means new year's resolutions, life changing events, and becoming a completely different and better person! While the last part of that list is unrealistic and unnecessary, new year's resolutions can provide the needed time for self reflection and small ways to better our lives.
Some resolutions on my list for 2013:
- Floss, mouthwash (whitening) and two minute brushing ... twice a day
- Anti-aging via Strivectin. My fav products are for the eyes (http://www.strivectin.com/tl-eye-serum.html) and the face (http://www.strivectin.com/ar-night.html). I use both of these products every night. They are amazing! My skin is softer than ever, my acne (which I think I have had since puberty) is clearing up, and my dark circles acquired in graduate school are fading and my eye skin is tighter and firmer.
- Run a 5K. Then run some more. I started running in 2011, and have progressed... but not a ton. Therefore: running goals.
- Get out of my ruts! I like to eat the same things at restaurants (for example: Panera Bread. You Pick 2. Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Whole Grain Baguette. Bacon Turkey Bravo. Diet Coke), do the same free weight routines, wear the same jewelry/cardigan combination, etc. In 2013 I will be open to trying new things, even if they are small things.
- Start a blog. Not that my life is extraordinarily interesting, but I think blogging is a great way to express creativity, emotions, and connect with friends - old and new. (Whooo! One goal achieved!!!)
- Continue to blog. I promise to not give up on this creative endeavor and to always find a topic for blogging. When it comes to blogging, continuing when things are ordinary or plain can be difficult.
If you have any resolutions that are interesting feel free to share! Remember it takes 21 days to turn a task into a habit ... but if you miss a day there are plenty more to come in 2013!
Thanks for sharing in my first blog experience! Until next time!
